Question Anybody watch Intervention?

Every time I watch it I see the worst-case scenarios and I wonder if being THAT messed up is a common thing? I did meth for over 16 years and never did most of the crap I see on that show. Maybe I just got lucky, maybe I just have a bit more self-respect? I don't know.

So, who here watches the show and what do you think of it?

I like Intervention, I've seen almost all of them. But I've been dissapointed lately because there haven't been any new ones.

What channel is this shown on?

I live in the UK and want to watch it. Seen a few clips on YouTube, seemed pretty interesting.

For anyone who can't find it on TV you can always check it out on Hulu.com. Just type intervention in the search box. That show helps keep me in check.

I would say DXM Ben is my all time fave. The part where he just stands there going *urgghhhh garbage men* I totally loose it in laughter...but at the same time I realize how fucked up in the head he must be at that point. I really do hope that guy got better...he was one smart mofo. Makes you think though.....even someone with an IQ most of us cannot comprehend ...still makes dumbass decisions.
PS Don't get me started on that Christy chick....the way they portrayed her,.....its as if her mind leaked out her ears.

I love intervention, simply because im obsessed with the subject of drugs. I love to do em, talk about em, and watch shows about em. and I like seeing the happy endings on intervention. Its good for my heart to see people over come a burden in their life. its just a little boost in optimism for me.

If you know anything about downloading torrents, you can acquire some of the episodes. If your lucky you might be able to find one on a simple file sharing program too.

I know my way around torrents and warez sites, but I'd rather be able to watch it on TV.

How the fuck do I get on Intervention? I mean, I would think that the producers supply you with the drug/money to buy the drug. If they didn't you'd think most people would just stop doing them for a day or so, so they don't make an ass out of their self.

Cause I wanna sign up and say I do a gram+ of heroin a day.

I'm almost positive they don't supply anything for the addicts. I've seen some addicts ask for stuff from the producers and camera crew such as drugs and money and they are always denied. You see the addicts getting their drugs by various means (stealing, buying, etc..) and also getting their own money. I'm thinking they are asked to do a documentary on addiction (as it says in the opening of the show), probably by some "fake company or something", set up by their family members. I don't know though.

This. I could tell them I smoke an oz or so a day of some good mids, pop some oxy all day.

And RoboBen is fucking great. I found a blog from him somewhere on MySpace not too long ago, that guy is trippy.
The only part better than trash people is when he's walking up the street and stops "Ooh mushrooms, oh wait, that's poop." Poor guy, I really hope he's doing good.

I just wanted to tell you that I went and found "Robo Ben" on youtube.

That shit's really not funny at all.

I'm torn by this show. I appreciate that they try to tell a story about the addict's life. While pandering to shock, they do a good job of illustrating the complexity of the decisions it takes to get to that state.

But it's sad -- we're looking for the Bens to be really fucked up. Like the show Cops, we feel better for ourselves for not being quite THAT stupid. And even moreso, it perpetuates the belief that this is the only sort of drug user possible.

And it makes me feel sad to know someone is out there eating dick to pay for Robitussin.

I'm getting soft and old.
