Scary Quitting Smoking

I really need to quit smoking. I'm already smoking the cheapest roll-your-owns I can find, and it's costing me too much money. My only worry is I'm used to smoking with all my favorite drugs and booze. Any tips on trying to quit would be helpful.

Call a quit line, find a group, wear patches, monitor how many cigs you have a day. Go camping and only bring yourself one pack for the whole week, Go cold turkey and prepare to get an onslaught of withdrawal symptoms, smoke pot instead of tobacco.

Whenever people ask you for ciggies give them all away, stuff like that.

The first four days are the worst but you'll feel better after a week. A healthy diet and exercise is also a major factor in helping getting over withdrawals, lame as it may sound.

Everyone I know who has stopped smoking cigarettes says it's the smartest thing they've ever done.
Good luck to you.

Replace them with something rewarding. Like, buy yourself a bag of small hard candies. Everytime you want a cigarrete eat a peice of candy. My grandfather quit this way with mints. He had been smoking for 60 years.

The reward system. I should try this with like a bag of weed. I can only smoke a bowl if I don't have a cigarette.

Quitting is different for everyone. Some can do it cold turkey, others need assistance. I chewed Nicorette gum for a week and I had no problems quitting. A quick Google search turned up http://www.quitnet.com/qnhomepage.aspx There are also others to choose from. Good luck! It gets easier

After many failed attempts I limited myself to ~1 cig a day and then one day I just stopped. It has been like 3 weeks or so since I have had a cig and i don't even want them anymore. In fact the smell alone bothers me a bit now, it smells like shit. I feel so much better though, my lungs are thanking me every day.

A buddy of mine did the same thing. He tells me all the time how much better even smoking bud is with healthier lungs.

I hate tobacco now. The other day I had a spliff with my mate and it tasted like complete shit.

Good luck on quitting, it's a smart thing to do.

I've been thinking about quitting too just for the health reasons and this is probably the best thing I have heard so far.

I don't consider myself a smoker because I don't get nic fits, don't get urges and cravings to smoke, etc. I smoke while I drive, I smoke socially (with friends), or I smoke at work - just to step outside and get away from everything. The smoking at work is the only time when it is actually like ohh my god cigarette thank goodness. Everything else is just because I physically enjoy it.

I'd rather eat candy anyways. I'm gonna get fat.

Different scents for different gents. It's all up to preference and what would work best for you. I don't have a problem with smoking. I have a cigarrete when I feel like it. Otherwise I leave them alone and have never had a problem.

No shit?
That sound's good, except it would have to be roll your own. I just love the actual SMOKING part, I don't give a fuck what it is. Give me some rolled up crack for all I care.

I love smoking anything really. I'd probly hit anything you give me...excluding meth.

Meth is the funnest thing I have ever smoked - talking about the actual smoking part, nothing to do with the high. If you want to know what I am talking about, read some of RunFromMURDER's posts he mentioned in a few of them how fascinating it is just to watch it.
