booze Drinking Games: How To

Okay, we all enjoy playing drinking games, they make getting drunk more fun than it normally would be. I'm going to explain in detail how to play some of my favorites.

Beer Pong

Also Known As: Nothing, just beer pong.

What you need: Ping pong balls, some sort of table (ping pong table works best, but anything you can find will really do. In case of emergency, take a door off its hinges and prop it up on a couple folding chairs), twenty two plastic beer cups (preferably the Solo brand cups, they seem to work best), beer

How many people: 2-4 (2 if singles, 4 if teams)

Set up: You stand on the opposite side of the table from your opponent and start racking up your cups. You will make them into a triangular shape, putting four cups in the back row, three cups in the next row, two cups in the next row, and the front cup in front. Next, take the two left over cups and fill them with water, each team/player needs a water cup to wash the ball after it hits the floor. Now crack open your beers and pour them into the cups, keeping the beer levels even. I usually use three beers per side, but what you use is up to you.

How to play: There are many ways to choose who shoots first, but I always do eye-for-an-eye. Meaning both opponents look eachother in the eye and shoot for their opponents cups on the count of three without taking their eyes away from eachothers. If you miss, keep trying until someone makes it. You don't have to drink the eye for an eye cup if you lose it, the other team just gets to go first.

This game is pretty basic, it's just turn based free throws, and if you make a shot in a cup, the other team drinks the cup. First one to make the other team drink all their cups wins.

Rules: Beer pong is a fun game, because you can make up your own rules at any time, just remember it's all about having fun and getting drunk. For starters I'll set you off with some of my rules though.

Bouncing- Bouncing is allowed off any possible surface, including ceilings or walls, and if the shot is made, the team must drink two cups instead of one. Bounces may be swatted at any time.

Rollbacks- If both teammates make a cup, they get a rollback, where they get to shoot again, there is no rule as to how many times this may happen in a row. If both teammates make the same cup, it is a rollback, and three cups must be drank.

Titty Cup- The front cup is always titty cup, and if it is the first cup a team makes, the other team must lift their shirts and show dem titties.

NBA Jams- When a player makes a shot his turn, then on his next turn makes another shot, he may say "I'm heating up". If he does, and he also makes his next shot, he may shoot until he misses. If the player does not remember to say that he is heating up, his Jam session is forfeit.

Rebuttal- When a team wins, the team that lost has a last chance to continue the game. The losing team has to make the rest of the winning teams cups without missing. If they cannot do this, or miss a shot, they lose. If the can, both teams rerack with six cups and continue the game.

Losers Drink- When a team loses, not only must they finish their remaining cups, but also the winning team's remaining cups.

Re-racks- You get two re-racks per game, where during your own turn, but before you or your partner has taken a shot, you may call for a re-rack and have the other team rearrange the cups however you want them.

Moose

Also Known As: Icetray Quarters

What you need: At least two quarters, an ice cube tray, alcoholic drinks, flat surface.

How many people: 2+

Set up: Set your ice tray on a table or other hard flat surface. Whoo hoo, you're done!

How to play: Take turns stand a little ways away from the flat surface and bouncing the quarters into the ice cube tray.

Rules: Moose is pretty simple, but the rules aren't very flexible, this game is what it is. When you first start the game, take a moment amongst yourselves and decide which side of the ice cube tray is 'give' and which is 'take'. If for instance, you make your quarter in the third slot on the give side, you deal out three drinks to other players or yourself as you choose. The other side, obviously, is the take side. If you make a three on the take side, you take three drinks of your beer or whatever you're drinking. Whenever someone makes it in the last row, on either side, every player must yell 'MOOSE' and put their hands on either side of their head in imitation of antlers. The last player to do so drinks a full beer or takes a shot. If the quarter lands on the tray but does not go in, everyone takes a drink.

Death Pong

Also Known As: Death Pong, nothing else.

What you need: Same materials as beer pong but with forty two cups instead of twenty two.

How many people: 2-4

Set up: Same thing as beer pong at first, setting up the first ten cups like you're going to play regular beer pong. After you've racked and filled your first ten cups, set six cups on top of them, balanced, also in a triangular rack. Fill these cups, then place three cups ontop of them in a triangle rack, fill them, then place the last cup on top, and fill it.

How To Play: Same basics as beer pong.

Rules: The main difference when playing death pong instead of beer pong is that when someone shoots a ball into a cup, you must drink all the cups going up from it also. this means you may drink up to four cups from one shot. Other than that, the rules are the same as beer pong rules.

Flip Cup

Also Known As: Flippy Cup? I don't think there are any other names for flip cup.

What you need: Table, Beer, 1 cup per person

How Many people: Even teams, usually between 3-4 per team.

Set up: Each player takes a spot on the table facing someone from the opposing team. They have a cup in front of them filled with beer. Set up complete!

How to play: The first person on each team drinks their beer as fast as they can when the game begins, then sets their cup on the edge of the table and attempts to flip it over until successfully done. Once the cup is flipped over, the second team member may start drinking, etc. First team with all their cups flipped wins.

Rules: No using two hands to guide the cup.

Thumper

Also Known As: N/A

What you need: People and alcohol. Also a table. Oh, and hands.

How many people: The more the merrier, or rather, the more the drunker.

Set up: Everyone sits down at the table and picks a simple hand gesture such as the middle finger, a peace sign, a salute, waving hello, etc. Familiarize yourself with a few of these signs at least, and never forget your own.

How to play: Everyone begins pounding on the table, and the leader of the game yells out the words 'WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE GAME?' To which everyone else yells 'THUMPER!' the leader then yells 'AND WHY DO WE PLAY IT?' and everyone responds with 'TO GET FUCKED UP!'. The leader then does his or her own hand motion and then someone elses, the person who's hand motion it was does their hand motion and someone elses, this continues until someone screws up a hand gesture, takes too long to respond or forgets their own gesture. They drink, and the game continues.

Rules: Don't screw up.

Quarters

Also Known As: Boogaboogaboogabooga.

What you need: Quarters, shot glasses, beer.

How many people: As few as two, as many as 4-5.

Set up: Everyone gets a shot glass. (I think?)

How to play: Each round starts off with a glass filled with beer in the middle of the table and two people on opposite ends of the table having a quarter and a glass. Each player shoots his or her quarter at his/her glass until he makes it in, then the player passes the glass to the player to his left. If the player to his left still has a glass as well, the player taps that glass with his, and the player who has been tapped must drink the glass of beer in the middle of the table, refill it, then make the quarter into his or her glass before she gets tapped again, with play still going around the table. If a player makes his or her first shot, s/he can choose to pass the glass to any player who does not currently have a glass. If there are enough people at the table, the group can add more shot glasses and position them equally spaced around the outside of the circle.

Note: I do not play quarters, this information was stolen form Wikipedia.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quarters

Edward Fourty-hands

Also known as: Nothing as far as I know

What you need: A roll of duct tape and a pair of 40's for each participant.

How many people: As few as two, as many as you're willing to risk in the place you're playing.

Set up: Players hold a 40-oz in each hand, which is then duct taped in place by a free-handed but mean spirited referee. All fingers are immobilized.

How to play:
The game is simple.

Players continue to conduct themselves as they normally would at the event, without the use of their hands. Players may only remove a 40 when it is empty, and must do so themselves.

Variations:
Can't remove a 40 until both are completed.
Duct-tape the thumbs for added fun.
Declare that the winner finishes first (this gets sloppy quick).

Tips and tricks: Finish the 40 before you have to pee. Peeing with 40s duct-taped to your hands is incredibly difficult.
Thanks to Ollie Cromwell for information on Edward Fourty-hands.

Fuck The Dealer

Also known as: N/A

What you need: Deck of cards, alcoholic beverages.

How many people: 3+

How to play: Select someone to be the dealer. Select a direction to go and the dealer shuffles the cards and shows everyone the bottom card. Then the 1st person tries to guess what the top card will be. If they get it right, the dealer drinks 10 drinksof his drink. If they are wrong, the dealer tells them if it's higher or lower. They get a 2nd try to guess. If they get it wrong they have to drink the difference of what the card is for their second guess. You discard the cards in seperate piles according to their numbers, face up.

Example 1: Card is a 10. They guess 3. Dealer says higher. They guess 7. They drink 3 drinks of their drink.

Example 2: Card is a 5. They guess 5. Dealer drinks 10 drinks of their drink.

Rules: After the dealer gets 3 people to drink they may pass the deck to someone of their choice. This is optional.
Thanks to Highneken for information on Fuck The Dealer.

Baseball

Also Known As: Beisbol!

What you need: Table, Beer, quarter, 4 cups of increasing height.

How Many people: Up to 9 for each team. However 2 on 2 is ideal.

Set up: Set the shortest cup in front about 7 or 8 inches from the edge of the table. Put the next tallest directly behind that and so on until all 4 cups are in place. Keep about an inch between cups. Fill each cup up with beer or booze of your choice.

How to play: Players take turns "batting" by trying to bounce the quarter into the cups and score runs. 1st cup is a single. 2nd cup is a double. 3rd cup is a triple. Last cup is a homerun. A miss is an out. Each team gets 3 outs and then switches to "bat." Runs are scored and baserunners are kept track of in the same manner as baseball. There is no defense. Play 9 innings.

Rules: Get smooshed!
Thanks to RobotPoop for the information on Baseball.

Kings

Also Known As: King's Cup, Waterfall, Ring of Fire, Circle of Death

What You Need: Plastic cup, beer, playing cards.

How Many People: 2+

Set Up: Sit at a table, or on the floor, spread out all the cards on the playing surface so they are laying facedown. Put the cup in the center of the card pile.

How to Play: Everyone takes turns taking a card, and you do whatever that rule is. Play until cards are gone.

Rules:The rules are completely interchangeable in this game, and everyone plays a different variation. I'm going to give you a basic rule set, the most commonly used rules from my experience.

2- If the card is red, give two drinks to any player, if black, take two drinks yourself.
3- If the card is red, give three drinks to any player, if black, take three drinks yourself.
4- If the card is red, give four drinks to any player, if black, take four drinks yourself.
5- Guys drink
6- Girls drink
7- Social, everyone drinks
8- Nose goes, the last one to touch their nose drinks
9- Rhyme, the person who picked up the card picks a word to rhyme with, the next person rhymes a word with it, and so on, until someone can't think of a rhyming word. Note: The rhyme word must be able to be rhymed with enough times to at least make a full rotation around the table. If it cannot be done, the person who picked the word drinks.
10- Category, the person who picked up the card picks a category and players name items in that category until someone can't think of anything, then they must drink. A popular one among my friends for instance is European car makes.
Jack- Rule, the person who picked up the card makes a rule, which can then only be abolished by another player getting a rule card and absolving the eralier rule.
Queen- Thumbmaster, the person who drew the card is not the Thumbmaster, any time they put their thumb on the playing surface, everyone else must follow suit. The last person to put their thumb down drinks. This may be done at any time, and lasts until someone else becomes Thumbmaster.
King- King's Cup, the first three people to draw Kings pour the remainder of their drink into the cup in the middle. The last person to draw a King drinks it.
Ace- Waterfall, the person who picked up the card drinks and everyone else does too, the player next to the person who picked up the card may not stop until after the cardholder has stopped. Then the person after them drinks until they stop, and so on and so forth. This goes in a clockwise rotation from the cardholder.

Century Club

Also Known As: Power hour (see variations).

How Many people: 1+

What You Need: Beer, shot glass, clock/watch.

Set Up: Put shot glass on table and fill with beer.

How To Play: Take one shot of beer every minute for 100 minutes.

Rules: If you miss a shot, you lose, if you throw up, you lose.

Variations: For Power Hour, play the same game, but with one shot of beer every minute for 60 minutes instead of 100. Power Hour is greatly reccomended for anyone with a low tolerance, or anyone who has not played either game before.

QB Challenge

Also Known As: N/A

What you need: Table, Beer, 12 solo cups, 2 ping pong balls

How Many people: 4 people play at a time, 2 on 2.

Set up:
Spoiler for Set Up:

How to play: Teammates stand across the table from each other longways as shown in the picture above. One teammate is the shooter and one is the flipper. Once the shooter hits a cup, the flipper drinks the beer, flips the cup (same as in flip cup) and throws the ball back to the shooter. Any misses are to be fielded by the flipper and tossed back to the shooter for another attempt. Once the shooter makes all 3 cups the two teammates switch roles. The first team to have all their cups flipped over wins. This game gets real competitive and it is really fun. The crux of the game is being a good "fielder" of the misses to maximize shot attempts.

Rules: Cups must be made in order; either back to front or front to back. Cups are to be filled with whatever volume equals one "gulp." Half and full cup games, however, are completely acceptable and are even encouraged. Elbow rule is in full effect. For those unfamiliar with the term it means when you shoot the ball your elbow must be behind your end of the table. The only other rule is to win![/quote]

This game courtesy of RobotPoop.

Attention: Some of these games are dangerous and require a high alcohol tolerance. I am listing these games as an informational guide and I do not advocate drinking unhealthy amounts of alcohol at any time

I'll update this with a few more games later, this is taking forever and I'm done for now.

Most rules vary on Beer Pong, like re-racking, some people only allow one re rack per game. I guess it all depends on the host's rules of the game. after 5 or 6 games though the rules become blurred.

I would like to see a list of rules regarding the Drinking game: Kings.

Yikes!! I would be very drunk very quickly. Could be fun with the right people. I once tried to drink a shot of beer every 60 seconds for an hour. I made it to 43 minutes before my stomach was so full of foam I couldn't hold any more beer. Then I lost all the foam shortly after. It came out much faster than it went in.

Never heard of Moose. That actually sounds fun.

There's so many different little rules that everyone makes up to make Beer Pong so confusing. I'm old school though. Keeping it simple. I don't need all that extra shit.

I guess it's not so much a drinking game as it is a card game made into a drinking game, but sometimes my friends and I like to play Bullshit. Every time you call BS and you're wrong you take three drinks. If you're right, the BSer takes three drinks. After a couple of games and people start getting tipsy, you find everyone starts drinking pretty much on every turn as everyone's drunkenly calling BS on each other.

If you want, DiverDan, I could type that up into the format you used, but it's not a game made for drinking like yours are - just a card game with drinking added.

@Dystopia: Yeah, I tried to just include what I normally consider to be house rules, because there's just too many rules to list them all. Kings/Kings Cup will be added sometime soon. That one's going to be a bitch to type out, but I'll get it up.

@hippychick: I've played it before, except when I played it it was a shot of beer every minute for 100 minutes. It's called Century Club here in MI, expect to see it added soon.

@chrol: For sure, type it up and post it here or PM it to me and I'll add it on. I intended for people to help me with this and get as many games up as we can.

@Ollie: I've heard of that, but never played it. Nonetheless it will be added to the original post sometime tonight.

Edit: Make that tomorrow night on the updates, bar crawling tonight.

Some people have already caught on, but if you want your game added, the best way to do so is to post it here in my format or PM it to me in my format. I'll still be adding things, but if you want it up soon the fastest way is to do it yourself.

I have so many of these. This is a great thread DD, can't believe it hasn't been compiled like this before on here. I'll add all the other ones I know periodically when I feel like typing them up.

We call that the Power Hour around here.

Anyone ever play Asshole? It's a drinking card game and probably one of my favorites.

Beruit is a completely different game.

It's similar to beer pong but it's played using ping pong paddles instead of throwing the balls, like in BP.

Updating with more soon. Still waiting on games from RP, chrol, and whoever wants to send me the rules of Beirut.

Every game means a little more info in the FAQ so I appreciate anything people send me.

The only other rule is to win!

I've been playing Kings for a couple of years now, and I've always played the same set of rules, that we write down and post so everybody can see and nobody can say "I didn't remember."

First, arrange the cards in a circle with no gaps. Put a shot / bottle in the middle. Pick somebody to go first, and follow in a clockwise order. The person draws a card and follows whatever rule is associated with it. If a person drawing a card breaks the circle, then under the "Circle of Death" rule they must take the shot / drink.

2. You (Pick somebody to drink)
3. Me (You drink)
4. Whores (Girls drink)
5. Questions (Put up five fingers (three is alternate play) and play Never Have I Ever (Person says "never have I ever... and then anybody who has done that must put down a finger). First one to put down all fingers loses.)
6. Dicks (Guys drink)
7. Heaven (Put both hands in the air like you scored a touchdown. Last person to reach for heaven drinks)
8. Pick a date. (Pick somebody - everytime one of you drinks, the other does too.)
9. Rhyme (Pick a rhyming word. First one to falter drinks)
10. Catagories (Pick a category, and first one to delay / can't think of one drinks. Ex. Fruits - Apple, Banana, Orange, etc.)
Jack. Thumb master (At any point the thumb master can put their thumb down on the table, only their thumb with their hand hanging off the edge, and the last person to follow suit drinks.)
Queen. Question Master (Everybody's favorite card, from this point on if the question master asks any question (what time is it, when did so-and-so get here, whose turn is it, etc.) if anybody answers they must drink.)
King. Rule (The person who drew the card makes a rule. This can be anything from having to say or make a hand gesture when you drink to not being allowed to say the words drink drank or drunk. If playing with people who are down, we've even made an "if you drink remove an article of clothing" rule. People who subsequentlly draw a King can either make another rule, or remove the prior existing one.)
Ace. Waterfall (Everyone readies their drinks and starts drinking at the same time. Everyone must continue to drink until the person on their right puts down their drink, except for the person who drew the card, who can drink for as long or as little as they like before they stop. The same applies for the next person, so on and so forth. Pretty much you do not want to be at the end, or you'll be needing a refill.

So in short.

2 - You
3 - Me
4 - Whores
5 - Questions
6 - Dicks
7 - Heaven
8 - Pick a date
9 - Rhyme
10 - Categories
J - Thumb master
Q - Question Master
K - Make a rule
A - Waterfall.

This is pretty similar to the rules that I use (and typically see others use). A few fun differences:

2 - This is the snake-eyes card. If anyone makes eye contact with you they must drink.
5 - Grenade. Hang on to this card, and at any time you can yell "GRENADE!" and everyone must hit the deck and take cover. Last person on the ground has to drink. This one we discovered somewhat recently, and its probably gonna be my favorite card for a long time to come.
5 - Another variation for the five is Jive. Last person to start dancing has to drink.
J - We just do this as a social; everybody drinks.

Didn't read replies so someone could have already said this but beer pong is commonly known as Beiruit or just Ruit where I live and many other places.

Also kings can be played 5 million different ways.

And you missed a great game.

Stump

Also known as: Nothing, stump

How many people: As many as you want

What you need: Tree stump, hammers, nails, beer

How to play: Sit in a circle around the stump. Everyone puts a nail in the stump in front of them and one nail in the middle. Someone starts with the hammer. Pull the hammer back to your ear and the object is hitting someone's nail all the way into the stump. If you hit someone's nail down they must drink the portion of the beer as the nail goes down. For example if the nail is all the way down they must chug their whole beer, if the nail is halfway down they must chug half, etc. If you hit the middle nail you get to pick a person to drink as much as that nail goes down. If sparks come off the nail it is a social and everyone drinks. You get one swing with the hammer and than pass it to your left. Game continues until you get tired of missing the nails or everyone's nails are down...it's harder than it sounds.

Warning: Do not play with dumbasses who don't know or are too drunk to swing a hammer. I have seen some accidents.

I like to do the "green man" rule. Everytime you go to take a sip you gotta take the green man out of your drink. So if you drink without taking him out you gotta drink again. It's so annoying it's pretty hilarious.

Beirut is different from beer pong.

Beirut is what we all think of and call beer pong where you have 10 cups in a pyramid shape etc.

Real beer pong is played on a ping pong table and each team has 2 cups, 1 in each corner of their side, and you play it with paddles trying to get the ball into one of the 2 cups of the opposing team.

I know some people that will get really made if you call Beirut beer pong.

Yeah I used to get irritated (always had that argument that beer pong is played with paddles) but I think its safe to say that "Beer Pong" no longer means the game played with paddles, it means the same game as Beirut. The difference in naming tends to be a regional thing, from my experience at least.

This is an awesome faqs. I would like to add a card game to this collection that I find quite enjoyable, but frankly, I cant remember how the fuck to play it as its been that long. I'll do my best to try and recollect all the details but has anyone here ever played the card game "Tits?"

dnbmember, that game sounds quite dangerous. I think I would rather take your word on the greatness of "stump" than loose an eye from that one retarded drunk kid whose never picked up a hammer other than at the home depot.
