    Default Donate blood?

Erm. Should I donate blood even though I smoke pot? I smoked a small bowl today, and a few big bowls two days ago. Am I or should I still be able to donate blood? Or should I not for health reasons or some other reason? I donate blood tomorrow at an annual school drive.

I know they ask if you've done hard drugs recently, I dunno about pot though. They screen all the blood first anyway, but you might as well answer truthfully, cause otherwise your blood might get rejected and you just wasted your own time to get a big needle in your arm.

As for your own health, you'll be fine.

If it's a nurse that's drawing the blood, just go ahead and ask her if you get the opprotunity. He or she won't rat you out.

My school was doing blood donations this week. My friends were running it, they told me they test the blood. Figures, no one wants drugged out blood anyways..... haha

When do they screen it? Do they take names? I might still give blood just to get out of math. :|

In road trip, they asked if they had done any drugs, and said that it included marijuana. Of course that is just a movie, so I have no idea. I'm guessing theya re going to check it and reject it if they find anything in it. I would just reccomend skipping it, there is a risk.

That was for a sperm donation.

I give blood as often as I can and I smoke pot almost everyday. As long as you're not doing anything heavier than pot, they shouldn't care.

    Marijuana, "Weed", "Pot", "Ganga"
Acceptable as long as you are not under the influence of marijuana at the time of donation.

    You're kosher

They won't let me donate blood because I spent too much time in England in the 80's

they always asked me that, and i was always high when they asked and just said no. im pretty sure they are mostly just screening for diseases. who knows though.

LOL No problem hon....it was late when I typed what I did and in retrospect, it comes across to me as being a little snippy. That wasn't my intention at all and I hope it didn't come across to you that way.

Thanks for this thread. I felt bad that I couldn't donate blood because of pot, but now that I know I can I will definately do it next time the bloodmobiles are around.
