    Howto Sweat Curing

Any growers out there ever tried the sweat curing process ? It's fairly easy especially if you have old aqaurium parts laying around. Only works w/ fresh buds/leaf totaly does away w/ taste & smell of chlorophyll ,mellowing the smoke & usually making it taste sweeter I used an old 20 gal. fish tank, heater & underwater thermometer a 1 gal. empty glass jar w/lid from tavern (previousley full of queen olives) Cut fresh stem/buds same length as jar, pack loosley punch 10-15 screwdriver holes in lid (or more) -you can use a quart mason jar or CLEAN mayo' jar -adjust for bud length, holes in lid. Put jar in tank with water up to bottom of lid (start w/ warm water) I use a brick to weigh down the jar, without covering up the holes -if your using a quart, use you imagination (for example a 2X4 w/ tie wire) I check until the themometer is an even 78 degrees Usually takes aroud 50 hrs. If you use a waterpipe to make smoke less harsh, you wont need to for this sweet bud

As I said in a previous post, water curing works well for plants that would otherwise be unfit for regular curing processes, but isn't worth the damage on look/taste/smell/potency if the weed is perfectly fine.

Chlorophyll tastes perfectly nasty - compared to no chlorophyll, never had damage even Skunk Original tasted sweeter/mellower

I don't think water curing results in any loss in potency.

Water curing does not only pull chlorophyll out of the plant. Any water-soluble terpenes leech out too, along with a substantial amount of THC (which is not completely non water soluble, but close). Also outer THC heads can fall off the stems underwater if you aren't extremely careful.

Terpenes are a key component to what gives weed it's flavour and smell. You don't want to lose them unless you really have to.

I've done side by side tests w/ same plant, air cured .The sweat curing always proved sweeter/ no burn feel to lungs/just as potent
Yeah kids, dont dip your flowers in the water tank & keep the temp. below 80.

Haha I'm sorry you feel that way. I love the taste of chlorophyll rich marijuana but maybe thats just me. Water cured weed has no taste to me. Or smell.

    But maybe its just me...

I meant to add, if you like the taste of chlorophyll might not be worth your effort
I've also noticed it works the best on Sativa strains w/ a multitude of red & orange pistils

Well not just the chlorophyll, but I love the terpenoids and flavonoids. That's why I love handrolled hash. It's chock full of the stuff. Mmmm flavonoids

Since you are the curer, Rock, you know about the magic of scissor hash. Possibly the best hash ever haha.

No matter how you slice it, you are still slicing it. Mmmm now I'm all hungry for scissor hash.

Not to brag but I grew up in a on further north & east smuggling route, We used to get keys' of stamped in the factory black & red/brown hashish bricks. Honestly it was the best & still would be the best today unless you could set out w/ 10 lbs. of some current close to 20% THC bud & make, maybe 1 & half kilo's with the same step by step extraction process they used to make the bricks of red- That WAS the Shit -Period

Hell ya. That shit is the business man.

And Rock, I was only trying to say that you know the magic of scissor hash because you grew the plants yourself. That's awesome!
