    Question Refrigerate Alcohol?

Hello, I was wondering if there is any reason to put liquor in the refrigerator or freezer to chill it. I've seen a few people do this and I wasn't sure if it was to enhance taste or preserve an already opened bottle. On the flip side, everyone has liquor cabinets that aren't refrigerated, so maybe some one can help me out here.

In case it dependant on the liquor, my usual stock is Captain Morgans Rum, Vodka, Kahlua, and Bailey's.

none of that crap needs to be refrigerated, however it may make the taste slightly less unpleasant

No need to refrigerate spirits. Mixers for with spirits is a totally different case though. Or if you mix vodka for example to the ratio of 50:50 with a mixer then you may want it refrigirated. Really not much need though in general

Then again cold spirits with ice can be really nice to drink. Depends on person preference i suppose.

I assume it's just because the people you kick it with enjoy cold liquor. It's something you would usually do with white wine, but I've never seen it done with anything you've mentioned.

I have, like someone else mentioned, seen vodka in the freezer. I agree -- it's way easier to take shots of if you place it in the freezer. Most liquor doesn't freeze -- I don't know why you'd put it in the fridge instead.

there's no point to chill baileys. Other then that, you can pop your liquor in the freezer for a while, then you can show up your friends and take shots like a champ.

Thanks for the advice. My main concern was the Bailey's since it's cream based. I'll definitely toss the vodka back in the freezer.
