Ritalin/ADD Drugs

I'm sure I'm not the only one that has a sibling/friend/etc that gives some to you from time to time. What are your thoughts on taking these? I enjoy the euphoric high that it gives, but I try to rationalize that I only need to take them when I should be studying or writing a paper. However, I often take them when I go out to the bars to becoming more sociable.

Cocaine give a better high (albeit shorter) than Ritalin/Adderall/Concerta, but I won't encourage you to use it.

I used to eat ritalins or adderalls for breakfast, and it's alright, but when mixed with caffeine, with an accellerated heartrate (from running or something), I sometimes found an odd pain in my chest. That can't have been good.

I would not use them to become more sociable, though amphetamines of all types will make you want to talk, talk, and talk some more. If you become reliant on them to become more sociable, then you will build up a dependance on them which would be terrible for you.

And yes, they are great for homework. They help you focus, and focus is good when you need it. Just don't abuse it :)

see the problem with me is that I can never focus on anything. Like my room for instance, "It's so messy, I should clean it today, right after I take a shower." Then I go and watch TV, then while I watch TV I think, "I should get to work on my homework." So I start and then Computer Time. LWS then games. And after that more TV, then comes 11 pm 12 pm and I decide I need the rest. Sometimes the room thing goes on for weeks or months. But the homework problem is solved when I get low grades.

Anyway, back to my point, are these legal and should I use them for certain things?

They are legal with prescription, but they are classified as Schedule II CNS stimulants and are illegal to use without a prescription or outside of the prescription instructions.

Amphetamines are perfect for cleaning your room, doing your schoolwork, or focusing on anything that needs to get done. They can be habit-forming though, so be careful with them.

Speaking of all this, I just ate 60mg ritalin to do this fucking long-ass book report for English class. Fuck it all >:-|

I'm pretty sure Ritalin is a methylphenidate, not an amphetamine. My ADD perscription is pretty intense, it's not ritalin or adderal or concerta or any of that, it's just pure amphetamine pills. 20mg amphetamine in 20mg pills, pretty tight considering adderal has about 6.3mg of amphetamine per 10 mg pills. I took a 40 mg dosage the other day and it was suprisingly like cocaine, much more than any other time I've taken my meds for fun.

Wow! 60 MG? The most I've ever taken was 30 and it started to really mess me up. It almost had a negative effect on me.

Last year I was eating Adderall like everyday because I had a free hookup and when I couldn't get it free I got it cheap from someone else. Eventually I stopped taking them and had a fucking horrible comedown, that lasted like 3 days. I'll never touch adderall/ritalin again, I just can't stand the comedown. Some people who take it tell me that they don't have any bad side effects or anything and that they can sleep that same night but I don't know, not me. Yeah, I'm just bitching now, but I still don't touch it, other than to sell it. I'll stick with my ice or cocaine :cool:

edit: oh and someone mentioned something about amphetamine being like cocaine. They really aren't the same at all, there is definitely a difference between being high on cocaine and being high on amphetamine. They're both uppers but they don't give you the same high.

Yeah, I don't like taking it much because I took it for like... I don't know how many years straight and I came off it for like a week... Shittiest week in my life. I also get a pretty shitty comedown from higher doses, mostly emotional shit, I get pissed off easily, sad easily, pretty much all my shitty emotions get sparked very easily, but it's hard to be happy on the comedown.

I have a friend who abuses Aderoll(sp?) every now and then. He says he's got total concentration on anything he does. And he's got energy to boot. I've noticed, and he has too that he's a lot better conversationalist than he normally is.

Personally, I haven't even tried weed. My only real drug is caffeine, honestly. Since I know these are habit-forming, I doubt I'll be trying them any time soon.

Personally, I haven't even tried weed. My only real drug is caffeine, honestly. Since I know these are habit-forming, I doubt I'll be trying them any time soon.In all honesty, caffeine is the most habit-forming drug I know. I can go without lots of things, but I can't go without my coffee.

The first time I ever took ritalin it was suggested by a friend when I had a huge paper to do. I have major procrastination problems, but I dont think I am ADD or anything. Lets just say I started writing my ass off and didn't stop until that paper was done. I got an A BTW :)

Edit: BTW, I found it really fun to counteract my comedowns with alcohol. But I never take more then 20 at a time. I don't use it to get retarded, just to enhance things.

Well all I can remember is having a TON of energy, and my nose being blue from the adderall. It wasn't really that great, though I was bored.

ok, im an expert in this feild because ive been all just about all add medicen because i have pretty bad adhd (attention deffisite hyperactive dissorder), my grades in school are shit and always have been excpet for the periods when im on medication. Rittiline and other midicens like it are all stimulants, for someone with adhd stimulants usually have the reverse affect on them, they become more calm. So when someone without adhd or add takes one, it does not have the same affect as it does to someone with add/adhd, it causes they to become more socialble and sometimes more hyper. Also caffine can have the reverse affect on kids with adhd which kinda sucks casue ive never gotten to feel what a "caffine high" is like, and it doesne help keep me more awake and i met a kid with adhd that has tried speed and he said it calmed him down
