I've been perscribed one of the above, and I'm coming across some really disturbing information. I was wondering if anyone, or anyone you might know has had personal experience with any of these drugs. If so, please tell me what you know. It would be of great appreciation. Thanks.

Personally I have never dosed on either of them, but my friend was prescribed Zyprexa a while ago because she would go into sparatic psychotic moods. With Zyprexa she was calmer than I had ever seen her before, she wouldn't even scream if she got angry. But after a week or two of her taking the drug she would complain to me about she was always anxious, or she would talk about she couldn't stop moving her arms. She even complained about how she couldn't have sex with her boyfriend (she could but she didn't want to). Her knees were killing her half the time, so her doctor also prescribed her hydrocodone for the pain. After a little while of these syptoms she called me and told me she couldn't sleep and said she hadn't for a few days, so getting worried, I told her to cut the dose down to half. After that she was fine, her knees got better, she started sleeping again, and she noticed she was more interested in sex. I don't know the reason this drug affected her like this, but I do know it is a powerful SSRI and can cause sudden and drastic changes in reality perception. If you are prescribed to this drug, make sure you ask you're doctor or pharmacologist everything about Zyprexa, and read all that you can about it, keep informed, that's really all the advice I can give you man.

Jesus.
Well, what I've come to find out is that experiences range from: It was life changing for me (GOOD) to I gained 40 pounds and sat on the couch for 1 1/2 years and never wanted to leave (BAD).
I've been perscribed Risperdal, and it scares me, honestly.
I actually don't think Zyprexa is an SSRI (I'm familiar with the group of drugs, and these are in a group of their own).
Anyway, there's the risk of me getting tardive dyskinesia, which is a neurological syndrome caused by the long-term use of neuroleptic drugs. Neuroleptic drugs are generally prescribed for psychiatric disorders, as well as for some gastrointestinal and neurological disorders. Tardive dyskinesia is characterized by repetitive, involuntary, purposeless movements. Features of the disorder may include grimacing, tongue protrusion, lip smacking, puckering and pursing, and rapid eye blinking. Rapid movements of the arms, legs, and trunk may also occur. Involuntary movements of the fingers may appear as though the patient is playing an invisible guitar or piano.
And the chances of me getting diabetes increase. FYI, if I have to limit the amount of sugar I take in, I'll probably just die.
There are class-action lawsuits going on with this drug, and overall, my dad and I are not comfortable with me taking it.
There has to be other options out there for me. Ugh.

Yeah there always is something else, you just have to find it :( I know its not really an SSRI I was just comparing it to them because it does affect the flow of serotonin in the brain, but I really hope everything goes alright for you.

Well, I'm currently on a drug that feeds me incredible amounts of serotonin, but that doesn't seem to be the answer because I'm on the maximum dosage that my doc was able to perscribe me, and I've been at that dosage for well over a year now. That is why I'm having to seek alternative drugs.
Thanks for your feedback.

No problem. I already have insanely high serotonin levels, so this is probably the only drug I absolutely refuse to do recreationally. With other drugs, I'm well educated enough with the pharmacology, and effects of them I can decide on responsible doses according to my own chemical balances, but anti-psychotics I will never do due to the fact that, given more serotonin, my mentality could potentially snap which would be bad :( .

Or it might be really fun in some sick and demented way. Or maybe not...
