This is a channel dedicated to this forums chat. Talk about anything you want, aside from illegal things like how to get drugs, and that sort of thing. This will get you permanently banned from the channel, and will give you bad standing on these boards.
How to install IRC
1) Go to www.mirc.com and download the latest version.
2) Install the program, it's easy. Just follow the simple instructions listed.
3) Once you've done this, open up mirc, located in the directory you installed it to.
4) You will be prompted for a username (use your LWS username) an email address (not really important, but it is required. Does not have to be verified) and your name (not really important, but is required. Does not have to be verified)
How to join the server/channel
1) On the main window, type in the following:
/server irc.zirc.org
2) It should automatically start connecting, if not, there is a button on the top left hand side that is your connect button, it can also be found under the file menu.
3)Once connected to the server, type in the following on the same window:
/join #drugsandbooze
and voila, you should be in the chat!
Register your nickname
1) Do this so that no one else will be able to use your nickname, prevents fraudulent bastards from trying to be someone they aren't. To do this, type in the following in the chat:
/msg nickserv register <password you want> <your real email address>
Check your email inbox for an email with an authorization code, copy and paste what it says to do.
Scripts you might be interested in
Certain scripts make IRC more easily manageable, and also give added features. A few of these scripts are Invision (my personal favorite), Polaris, and Invincible to name a few. Just do a simple google search and you'll find what you're looking for. These scripts are not for people who don't know what they're doing, you must have a decent understanding of IRC to use these scripts.
Please use your LWS nickname, if not you will be promptly greeted with "<insert name here> IDENTIFY YOURSELF" and you will have approx. 2 minutes to reply, before I assume you're a lerker or someone affiliated with the government, and you will then be banned for eternity.
If no one is in the chat, it's because we all have lives as well. Someone will eventually start talking, so just wait. Idle in the channel if at all possible, this means just let your mIRC window stay open. The more users in the channel the better! OP status will be given to Juice and Ollie, and anyone in the SR usergroup who I feel is fit to be an OP, and won't abuse the privelage. I am the owner of the channel, so don't try to deop me, it won't work.
