Around here (NJ, east coast) A gram is 20, an 1/8th (3.5 grams) is 50, a 1/4 (7g) is 100, a half (14g) is usually around 200, and an ounce (28g) can range in the 300-400$ area. 1 gram you can make two or three jays with if you're conserving, and probably get a few (3-5) decent bowls out of. It really is relative to where you live though, because I've heard people getting great nug in Cali. for half the fucking price :(. Life just aint fair!

You're from Arizona -- is that by the border, bychance? I doubt he's hitting that up in New Jersy. I get similar prices for "lows"/"mex" around here, but God only knows why you'd wanna smoke it.

Rather smoke the .5g for $10 any day of the week. Just preference though.

Man where do you live, because finding an ounce for anything less than 300 is a BITCH in some areas. Price REALLY varies with where you are located.

Scales are rather small, if you're talking about digital scales. Mine costed around 50 dollars and fits right into my pocket, very nice tool to have.

Our chronic rates are about the same as everywhere else, we just happen to be able to get good merch fresh over the border so cheap it's rediculous to buy chronic imo. Yet I still have some friends who smoke only chronic, they say it gets them higher. I still think they are wasting money, high is high.

Yea I only buy chronic. see it doesn't make much differance with the getting high though, you get more shakey for less which will gte you just as high as a little chron. I just prefer taste smell and everything to the chron. Mmm mm good.

It all depends on your connecs whether you are getting the stress or the good merch, and it's all about the same price unfortunatly (for those who are getting the stress) unless you are dealing in like pounds. I was selling pounds of stress for $400, but good merch when the checkpoints are open can go up to $700, yet pretty much all bud is good when the checkpoints are open cause it is in season, thus is why they are open. And there are inner-state checkpoints which is what I am referring to, they put them between Yuma and Phoenix, and Nogales and Phoenix (Yuma and Nogales are the two big AZ-Mexico border towns, and are where most of the weed crosses national borders)

Responding to an earlier comment, a great cheap alternative to a digital scale when dealing in weed (this does not work for any other drug really) is a hand postal scale. You can pick them up for around $3-$10 and they vary in accuracy and maximum weight (more maximum weight is lower accuracy). Basically they are a ring with a hinge attached to a counterweight with an alligator clip dropping down the bottom. You merely clip a bag to the clip and start putting weed in the bag watching the scale as you put it in, when you've put in too much you take some out. Put some more back in. There ya got it. I find hand scales MUCH more convient when dealing with regs because digital scales just don't handle an ounce of weed very well unless you buy one of those big scales, and those are way to expensive.

Here's what we pay for and get in Iowa. Obviously the size will vary but most dealers I got to have a scale and follow a pretty straight up price list.

Dime $10, 1.0 grams (Most dealers won't sell a nickel or a dime unless you go to the hood. Ghetto dealers sell small amounts because everyone smokes blunts and they can get rid of an ounce or more of just small bags pretty quickly.)
Eighth $20, MAYBE $25, 3.5- 4.0 grams
Quarter $35-$40, 7.5 grams (I usually get a quarter but I get 1/2s alot too.)
Half Oz. $50, 14.5 grams (When I get a half my dealer usually breaks it off in a couple HUGE nugs.)
Ounce $80-$120 28 grams(This one really depends on who you go to, I usually pay $100 but I've gotten an Oz for both $80 and $120. The $120 Oz. was of this seedless stuff called 'Pretendo.' It looks like highs but it's good seedless mids.

If you're brand new to smoking then trying to start dealing right of the bat doesn't seem like the greatest idea. Take your time, build up your knowledge, and work on getting some good hookups, both for cheaper prices and better quality.

Bowls are easy to make, I've made plenty of homemade bowls and bongs before I bought one.

You can get scales at Office Depot or any other office supplies store.

The supply of weed is not the main factor in detirmining price. The greed of your dealer and the number of dealers who handle the weed before he gets it are the main factors, the first of which is the most important.

A dime bag is not a certan whieght of weed, it is a cash equivalent.

There's no headshops in my area. I was lucky to come to come across a pipe stand at a concert a few months ago. It might be the same for him, there's also nice online sites if you can get ahold of a credit card. :)
