My girlfriend is currently on (and has been taking):
prozac

Singular
Is it safe for her to take a 150mg dose of DXM. Please reply.

I would say No. Its never good to mix drugs if you don't know for sure on a personal lvl what type of reactions you'll have.
Better to be safe then sorry.

It's not even good to have alcohol when you're on antidepressants, let alone drugs.
I already looked up some information for prozac and stuff and the only drug complications are taking it with moais. Same with dxm. I also looked up to see if there were any other drug interactions with dxm than w/ an moai and they said that there wasnt any to worry about
in short: i think it will be ok
prozac+moai= very bad
dxm+moai=very bad
if shes taking prozac and it conflicts with an moai then she isnt taking a moai which means that dxm should be safe. I am 90% sure. I am also saying this because she has already taken 150 mgs.
I think I remember reading about the combo of DXM inducing Serotonin Syndrome. Something you don't want. This was a while ago though, also, I was under the impression Prozac was an SSRI, not MOAI. And wait, so you let her dose before you had all the information to make sure she wasn't risking anything?
Edit: And when it comes to the life of one of my friends, I would never settle for "90% sure." It's absolutely completely positive, or they don't do the drugs until I am. It's good policy.
Edit 2: I knew I was right
Erowids DXM FAQ3.5 I'm Taking Other Drugs -- Can I Take DXM?
Quick answer: it depends. Don't take DXM if you are taking any of the following other drugs:
* Antidepressants of any kind. MAOIs (monoamine oxidase inhibitors) are the worst; DXM + a MAOI will kill you. DXM with other antidepressants can cause serotonin syndrome, an unpleasant and occasionally fatal condition.
* Diet drugs like phentermine, fenfluramine (Redux), or phen-fen. Again, a risk of serotonin syndrome.
* Non-drowsy antihistamines (allergy medicines) like Allegra, Seldane, or Hisminal.
In all honesty, I wouldn't put my friends at risk of Serotonin Syndrome. MOAI or not, she is still on an anti-depressant (Prozac, SSRI)

I was on effexor, an ssri and I survived a far higher dosage of DXM, so I don't know what to really say on the issue.

travis you have had tons of things put in you ;) your a savage... the lady shouldn't be taking dxm especially after the facts provided. I really don't know why you said it was urgent when you gave her the damn pills anyways before getting all the facts and then you pretty much answered your own question. You didn't need much help after all but what was provided should make you not let your girlfriend take that shit anymore (dxm is good hell yeah but not if it can hurt someone).
i didn't give her the pills. she took them herself and then i asked her about medications shes taking. Im not so stupid as to go ahead and hand her over dxm without learning about it.
