I'm leaving for Burning Man in an hour. My shit is packed, I have a pocket full of cash, an assortment of mind-altering substances, a furry bike, and at 4:30 this morning, my room mate dyed my hair pink. My booze is pre-ordered from a liquor store in Sparks and I'm going to pick up a carton of smokes as soon as I cross the Indiana border. I've been waiting all year for this day, preparing and planning, making costumes, giddy euphoria just from thinking about the dust. One hour.

And I still have to go to Walmart.

Have fun, guys and gals, I'll be back in ten days. I might still have half a brain. If anyone happens to be going or knows someone who's going, my name is "Rocket" and I'm with Art Car camp. I'll be in PlayaInfo, and I think we'll be around 6:30 and Bonneville. Look me up.

I'm back, baby. I have stories. And I took a few pictures. We'll see what the dust and heat didn't destroy. Only half the photos turned out last year...

I met a fantastic girl named Rawkstar. She's the one with the curly black hair. We picked her up in Illinois and I knew there was something special about her when we were both wearing camoflauge pants and she had a belt of ammunition around her waist.

The best part? hmm... It's cheesy, but Rawkstar made my week. My little sister made it on friday (she's the one in the fuzzy red hat) and that was just great.

The rest of the week is a blur of alcohol, nitrous, weed, mushrooms, speed, dust, blinking lights and fire.

I slept 24 hours in 11 days. I saw dawn every day, and by 7:00 it was too hot to sleep.

There were times when you'd be talking to someone or they'd be talking to you, and they'd just kind of pass out for ten minutes. I know I did it once or twice.

This was the first year in history that attendance went down. There were 46,000 people there, and despite what they were saying over and over, they actually sold tickets at the gate. FOR $50!

I wish I'd had a computer, some folks were kind enough to install wi-fi in center camp. I know there are a handful of people that would have made the last-minute trip for a $50 ticket.
