I am an unexperienced grower and am planning on growing after reading several sources am ready to grow, but I have a problem in that I am still living with my parents and cannot buy seeds seperately so I am left to look for seeds in my bags, but I am not sure on where to find them and ways I can tell if it is too late to grow them or not. Please help.

Try buying them online, if you think you're parents would be too suspicious about getting a package in the mail, ask a friend. Here's a good place to start http://shop.grasscity.com/shop/grasscity/sub_category.html?subcategory=1089&id=gtf8ahk4

Yes, I'm very familiar with grasscity, but I'm trying to have that be my last option because of the whole parental issue.

i think the only thing for you to ensure you get good seeds and shit is to ask a homie if you can mail it there.

Maybe try getting one of the non-weed related things as well and if they asked what was in the package show them that? I've done that quite a few times.

Well I'm also underaged (I realize how bad it is so I cut back majorly, but you know once you've smoked for the first time...) so buying anything drug related would be out of the question and I don't have my own credit card.

I have somewhere before that a way to check if you're seeds are still alive or dead is to let them sit in water and if they sink that means...don't remember if it meant if they were alive or dead though. Is this true, and which one is it?

Yes, this is true. It's used in gardening as well. I'm pretty sure you want the seeds that float but I'm not positive - anyone know for sure?

ohhhhhhhhh yes this is true man. my friends sprouted his seeds this way. he put a few in a cup and some floated some fell. he said if they fell then they died. alot sprouted but some died in the process. in the end 3 plants sprouted from them. but some shit happened with my homie so the plants just died due to neglect. but if they float they good. sink bad.

Yeah I just checked on my seeds luckily only 2 sank so hopefully tomorrow I will begin planting what would be a good location (light, temperature) to put my seeds?

let them sprout in the water then plant them it should be much easier.

On average how long does the growing process take? How much sunlight and water should the plants be able to get?

edit: So you want me to leave them in the water? I had it capped before because it was in a water bottle but should I uncap it?

If your leaving them in there, plants need oxygen, so either take the cap off, or poke holes.

leave the seeds in a cup of water wiith no lid. this way so its easier to get them out. when you plant them, i think like a half light, half dark would work besy. hjalf a day next to your window then half in your closet. also, its going to take some time for your plants to start going. a couple of months before they start budding and shit, ube careful and be patient. good luck~

oh and talk to your plants man, it helps :P

So how long should I keep them growing in straight water until I transplant them to pots, is it just based on when I think there ready depending on root size?

yah you should be able to tell when theyve sprouted. they should get 'kinda' big just judging like that since its already small. theres alot of different things you can do, theres alot of different options to everything your asking though.. so the shit im tellin ya isnt the only way o_o

So I could just germinate them in the water? I don't really need that much ganj so is there a time where I could harvest earlier, maybe not getting as much but I just am not trying to have the plant around for a very long time, for various reasons. I don't get stoned every day so even as little as an O would last me a good amount of time, I know it sounds stupid to be growing then but if you payed as much as we have to in this Midwest Corn Town for weed (20$ for schwag!) you would too.

you might not even get an oz. its not as easy as it sounds to grow herb. its really hard, and the more you let it grow the better. if your not planning on keeping it long, then IMO theres no point in growing except for the fact your growing a plant. if your lucky enough to get the weed going, hopefully its weed that will get you high. just thoughts yo~

That's ok, I can grow it for long, and I've gathered numerous seeds so that if I mess up I will have to start out, I'm willing to put forth a lot of time into this if necessary. What is a suggested wattage for my flourescent light? Does anyone know how to do hydroponics? I am starting off and just doing this the simple way that I know, but I have many more seeds and am thinking of doing each one different ways to find the best way for further notice.

Yeah, it doesn't seem like it with all the questions but when you're reading tutorials you can't ask them questions.

One last question until I go on to read more articles and then most likely have more, how long should the germinating stage last, like in case I have been waiting too long and I should just give up.

EDIT: New question came to mind...Many sites talk about planting the plants close together but wouldn't it seem more reasonable if you spaced them out so that if you were to get males it would be harder for them to interact with any potential females?

if you put them together theyll fight for water and food etc. thats truth, sound wacko though. the germinating stage for us lasted about like.. a few days. its obvious when to plant it (for us it was O_O) and yeah i know what you mean, but im sorry i just think im the wrong person to be asking. ive given you what i know, but i dont know much about the hydroponics and what not. i also didnt have much experience in growing it out throw its life(the plants). but yeah thats what i know.

Well you still know better than me, wait do I want them together or not? How many plants have you grown previously and how much bud do they yield on average?

sKunks
04-09-2006, 01:42 PM
i have never yielding any bud.. i told you ive never carried out the full process. ive done much research on it and have alot of buddies who have experience. they pretty much educated me on the way of the herbs birth. my friend dreams of making the strand of weed that completely sends you into space, thi sis his dream, his research is done.

but yeah dont put the plants together, like i said before theyll be fighting for the water etc.

What type of growing did they do (Indoor, Outdoor, etc.)? How did he make a new strand, crossbreeding?

EDIT: How much did this cost him if it cost him anything?

sKunks
04-09-2006, 01:50 PM
many different techniques were used. for us was just at the window. over time you notice that, if your putting so much effort into it and your not going to get so much back, then theres no point.

and yah dude.... im not that educated with the crossbreeding etc.

How far did your plants make it before you scrapped the idea? And you put them all in seperate pots or what? Still wondering how much this will all run me. If this little project gets off the ground I might post pictures or make a log on how to start off growing, but I'm not getting my hopes up for a miracle.

the plants were all in differnt pots. we got the plant pretty big. it had leaves and shit too. some leaves were purple, dunno what the fuck htat means though, it just looked really cool.

Oooh sound pretty sick, how long did it take for it to get that far, and by that time no buds had come from it?
