I lost the screen for my bong stem, and I lack backup pipe screens, so is it okay to use a piece of regular window screen?

Most people I know just use good old tin foil, with some holes poked in it.But yeah,I don't see why this couldn't work, haven't tried it though.

You should take a screen out of one of your sinks. The sink stays perfectly fine and the screen works really well, I just tried it out today. If one from your sink won't fit though, you should be fine with window screen.

I think regular window screen might melt pretty easily...a sink screen should be good as it metal, though i could never figure out how to get those out, so you could go to the home depot and buy one, thought it might not fit.
If all else fails use tin foil.

Don't use window screen, it will melt, it's plastic. As someone mentioned, go to your sink, unscrew the piece on the end of faucet, take one of the screens out, screw end of faucet back on. You now have a perfect screen.

When i lose my screens i use a little chunk of gravel, it blocks the hole slightly so the bud doesn't fall through, but not enough to slow the flow down.

Window screen is either plastic or coated in plastic, you don't want to smoke that.

Most window screen nowadays is plastic. I suggest you raid a faucet. They have good heavy duty stainless steel screens as airators. Just unscreew the very end where the water come out, pop out the screen.

try this, geta piece of window screen, then try to burn it, if it is plastic, it will melt, if it is just plastic coated, the plastic will just melt off, just melt off all the plastic and it will work fine.

Do not use regular window screen. It is a plastic that will melt very easily. If you really need to improvise and make a screen i would try taking aluminum foil and poking tiny holes in it. But if that doesn't quite suit your fancy, go to a home depot of somthing similiar and look around, they have very fine steel screens that will work perfectly. Good luck.

Yeah, like it's been already said, don't use window screen. I wouldnt use tin foil either. Something about smoking out of metal. Not only does it give it a funky flavor, but it also can cause alzheimers {sp?}. The piece of gravel/rock is a good idea, but what I've always hear of using is a piece of broken glass. just grab a shard of glass and stick it in the hole so that it mildly obstructs your hole.

Easiest way is to go to the liquor store, get a six pack, drink them, and then break the bottles until you have a shard that is the correct size.

Good luck and enjoy.

Ive used window screen before. The kind i used were theese little pices you use to patch holes in your normal window screen. They are made out of metal so they work fine. You can buy them at a hardware store. They come in squares about 1inx1in.
